Tanzania camping safari: adventure under Tanzania skies

Spend a thrilling vacation in Tanzania’s natural environment by participating in an adventure camping safari on your summer vacation. For individuals who are looking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life and reconnect with nature, this trip is ideal.

It is the characteristic call of the dove and weaver birds that serves as your alarm in the morning. Upon emerging from your tent and entering the countryside that is just beginning to awaken, the scent of coffee permeates the atmosphere. During this time of year, the natural world is especially vibrant, with low golden light casting long shadows of trees over the camp. This aspect of nature is particularly remarkable.

After a short period of time, you embark on a morning wildlife drive, either with our knowledgeable guides who are seated behind the wheel of an adapted four-wheel-drive vehicle or with you, providing you with the opportunity to be your own guide throughout this incredible journey through Tanzania, accompanied by a rooftop tent. Always be on the lookout for any movement or flash of color, as it might be a leopard that is following you, a family of mongooses that are foraging, or a big ground hornbill that is looking for a meal that is the size of a snake. The excitement comes from the expectation of what is possible to come upon.

When you go on one of our adventure camping safaris, you will travel around Tanzania’s national parks and into the heart of the wilderness.

You are going to go on roads that are rugged and adventurous, you are going to pass by little rural settlements, and you are going to witness lots of wildlife and amazing landscapes. During the night, you will be staying in campsites that are predominately unfenced, either within the national parks or slightly outside of them.

Every one of your senses will be participating. From falling asleep to the call of a hooting owl or waking up to the sound of giggling hyenas, to watching a hunt and kill, to experiencing the delicate balance between life and death, there are many things that can be experienced.

Because you are “right in the middle” of everything, the safari experience is even more dramatic than it would otherwise be. It is an experience that cannot be forgotten to be in close proximity to nature, particularly at night when there are millions of stars above and an orchestra of sounds that are characteristic of the nighttime.

When you go on an adventure camping safari, you can relax and take in every sight and sound without having to worry about the tasks coming your way. Or you can opt to be the master of your adventure where you will handle all the logistic that comes with this experience.

The installation and dismantling of spacious canvas dome tents that can accommodate two persons is something that our crew is able to do. Delicious meals can be prepared by a safari cook, and they will be served on tables and chairs that are positioned beneath a tree that provides shade. Alternatively, if you choose to go with the self-drive experience, you have the option of arranging all of this on your own.

By opting for a private safari, you will have the ability to select your own itinerary, travel dates, and companions while you are organizing a guided safari adventure. An alternative is to participate in a prearranged group safari that is restricted to a maximum of seven individuals in order to have a genuine safari experience at a reduced cost. Last but not least, you can simply hire a car from us that comes equipped with a ground tent or a rooftop tent, and you will be responsible for everything else.

Camping is a cost-effective way to interact with the natural world, animals, and cultures of East Africa.

CAMPING UNDER THE SKIES OF TANZANIA

Being able to sleep in a tent with only a thin canvas wall separating you from the natural world is an experience that will stay with you forever. Because you are lying down on a nice mattress, you will get a sense of being rooted to the rhythm of the earth’s rotation.

When you glance up at the canvas roof in the morning, you will notice the silhouette of tree leaves moving in response to the sound of the wind. Every single insect, bird, and animal will be audible to you, from the alarm call of a bunch of Guinea Fowl that is fleeing to the faraway chirp of a Cheetah and everything in between.

There are mosquito nets constructed into the entrances and windows of the dome tent that you will be staying in. The tent is 2.5 meters by 2.5 meters and 1.8 meters in height, which is equivalent to 8.2 feet by 8.2 feet and 5.9 feet in height.

In addition to providing comfortable sleeping beds with a thickness of 5 centimeters, we also provide sturdy camping equipment of the highest quality, including tables, safari chairs, and useful silverware and tableware.

What to expect on a camping safari in Tanzania?

During an adventure camping trip, you will have the chance to spend each and every hour of the day in the great outdoors, free from the interruptions that come from the modern world. This presents an opportunity to appreciate the straightforwardness of life.

The public campsites that are located within the park or on the park’s boundaries will be where you will stay. Due to the fact that the majority of the park’s campsites are not enclosed by fences, it is not unexpected to come across elephants walking between the tents or to come across antelopes while you are on your way to the shower.

In the ablution blocks, you will find showers with cold water and toilets that flush, which will allow you to cool off from the heat of the afternoon.

A guide, a safari cook, and an assistant are all members of our organization’s Adventure Camping team. They will go above and above to ensure that you have a wonderful safari experience.

In order for you to rest and take pleasure in your vacation, the camp and the meals will be prepared and set up for you. Our chefs will create all three meals of the day, beginning with breakfast consisting of eggs and sausages, coffee, and bread in the early morning hours. They will also prepare a picnic lunch, snacks, and delectable evenings consisting of stews and salads.

Throughout the course of the day, you will come to realize that not only are our professional guides enthusiastic about the natural world, but they are also quite knowledgeable. In addition, one of their most impressive abilities is the ability to ensure that every member of the group is able to get the most out of the safari.

Private adventure camping safaris provide you the freedom to decide where you want to go and what you want to see. In the event that you supply one of our travel specialists with your bucket list, they will be delighted to assist you in planning every aspect of your ideal safari itinerary.

On our small group safaris, you will have the opportunity to go on a safari with other travelers who share your interests at a lower cost. The group is restricted to a maximum of seven individuals, ensuring that you will be seated in a window seat within our modified four-wheel-drive Toyota Land Cruiser.

What will you see and do on a camping safari in Tanzania

As you sit by the fire and listen to its crackling, you engage in profound conversations that strengthen your connections. A lion’s roar in the distance gives the impression that it is closer than it actually is. When you lie back and look up at the night sky, which is devoid of any light pollution, you will see thousands of stars shining above you.

This once-in-a-lifetime experience will leave you with a profound appreciation for the vastness of the universe. To our great relief, Tanzania is home to a large number of parks where one can enjoy this pleasure.

The Northern Circuit

A broad range of animals are drawn to Tarangire National Park during the dry season because of its winding river and baobab trees, which are the park’s most recognizable features. Among the animals that you will have the opportunity to observe are both predators and prey, including one of the largest elephant populations in Tanzania.

Located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the biggest crater in the world, which serves as a habitat for a diverse range of animal species. There is a good chance that you will be able to spot the Big Five while you are here, and the terrain itself is breathtaking, with savannahs, lakes, and woods that you may explore. An experience that is truly unforgettable during a camping safari in Tanzania.

In addition to being a wonderful park, the Serengeti National Park is the location of the yearly migration of wildebeest population. It is possible that it would take a lifetime to thoroughly explore this stunning park due to the vastness of the savannahs, which are characterized by islands of rocky Kopjes. Of course, during the entire year, guests can take pleasure in viewing games of world-class quality.

The Southern Circuit

People frequently refer to Mikumi National Park as the Serengeti of the south because of the vast grasslands and acacia trees that may be found there. There are four of the Big Five creatures that can be seen, with the exception of the Black Rhino. Hiking to Sinole Falls, which is located in the northern Uluguru Mountains, is another option.

Ruaha National Park and Nyerere National Park/Selous Game Reserve, both located further south, have been referred to as some of the last remaining wilderness areas in Africa. You can have a once-in-a-lifetime experience here by going on a boat or walking safari. The campgrounds in these untamed places are less crowded, which makes for a more authentic adventure experience.

Your skin will be tanned, you will have dust in your hair, you will have developed new and old relationships, and you will have a lot of stories to tell when you return from your camping trip in Tanzania.

Once you have gone through this enchanted experience, you will have a profound comprehension of the proverb that states, “You can leave Africa, but Africa will never leave you.”
